I Stand Behind You...

When a man asks a woman to marry him he is asking her to be his wife.
He is asking her to trust him, to respect his role, and understand her role as it relates to marriage.
He is asking her to birth his legacy.
He is asking her to stand by him and encourage ...him.
He is asking her to be his helpmeet.
When a woman says “yes” to a marriage proposal, she is saying yes I trust you to lead me and our children.
Yes I trust you to protect us, and make the best decisions for us as a family.
Yes I trust you to be the head of our household.
Yes I will extend your life and build a legacy with you by giving you children.
Yes I will submit to you.
Yes I will be your HELPMEET.

Time for Change...

Well it seems that we are certainly in for some changes!!

We live in one of two houses on our street and we have enjoyed the wooded street that has left us secluded from the rest of the neighborhood! We have COMPLETELY enjoyed it! We knew someday houses would be built but we were hoping for a few more years of seclusion! Two weeks ago we woke to a back hoe clearing the land next to us! It first appeared he would stop with two lots and but he kept going and going! Now the entire street on my side has been cleared! It is quite weird to be able to see the rest of the neighborhood from my dining room window.

It was obvious that the clearing of the land meant houses were going up. We immediately started praying for good neighbors. What wasn't obvious was the fact that the two lots next to us are Habitat for Humanities houses!! After some deeper investigating we found out that all four plots will be Habitat Houses!

Now don't get me wrong, I think the organization is wonderful and I fully support it! What I don't understand is why they are choosing to build them in a neighborhood with houses at least double the value of the Habitat Houses. I just can't figure it out! I am concerned about the negative effect this could have on our property value. However, there is nothing I can do about it, the foundations are set to be poured any time now! Over 400 people have volunteered to build the houses on May 5 and 6th!! yes, that means TWO houses in TWO days!! How strange it will be to see the houses there!

As for our second big change, Brian found out last night that he will be getting a new job soon!! He has been on swing shift (2-midnight or later) for two years now and he is quite ready for a change! His new job will be a day shift job! We are all very excited about this! Our family has really missed being able to fellowship with other families! Plus it will make my life easier when it comes to taxiing kids back and forth to soccer!

We are praying that all these changes will be good changes for our family!
