On this Day...

Now if you know me, you know I have a terrible memory! I don't remember many details of events and I certainly don't remember dates!! (this is why I scrapbook)

However, 19 years ago I married my best friend!! I must admit 19 years ago he was not my best friend but God has been so very gracious to us! Every year I love my husband more and our relationship grows stronger!  He is my best friend, my rock, my strength and my love! 

On our 15th anniversary we bought our beautiful house in NC! We closed on it, went to Walmart, bought Hotpockets and then enjoyed our first meal in our new house sitting on the floor! It was wonderful! We have certainly loved our house!

On Tuesday morning, Brian sent me a text to say Happy Anniversary! A few minutes later he called! I thought it was sweet that he was being double sure to tell me Happy Anniversary!  However, he asked if I was sitting down? (you know  your in for something shocking when you hear that question!!)  He read me an email that stated that he has an assignment to Hawaii!! I was flooded with emotions at that time! Joy, sadness, happiness, shock to name a few!  Of course I am not very good at hiding my emotions so the kids immediately knew something was up! Before I even ended the conversation with Brian, the kids knew we were moving! Hayden is completely and utterly heartbroken!  Gage was furious!! He refused to talk to me the rest of the day! Levi (our normally emotional child) went straight to the Internet and then informed us that there is a Wet and Wild Water park less then 30 minutes from where we will live!! LOVE that kid!!
In the days since, Hayden has certainly come to terms with this move! He has told us that he knows this is God's plans for us and so it doesn't do any good to be upset about it!  Gage is talking to me again!  He is getting excited!  Levi was doing great until he had to tell his best buddy, the two of them were a mess!!

Brian told me when we need to be in Hawaii and I was even more shocked!  Generally when you get an overseas assignment, you are given 9-12 months notice.  We have less then 5!! There is SO much to do!! Brian started filling out the paperwork that day! We have to get medical and dental clearances just to get this process started!  We will be very busy the next 4 months!  

Our biggest concern is trying to sell our house!  Up until 4 months ago, I wouldn't have been concerned about selling it! But recently 2 Habitat for Humanity Houses have been built next door with plans to build 2 more! It has caused 4 neighbors to put their houses on the market! But we also fear that this has dropped our property value considerably!!  We are praying that the Lord will provide a buyer for our house so we can leave NC with no strings attached to a house!

So, we have certainly had some memorable moments ON THIS DAY over the last 19 years!!
