Great Classics for Children...

Several months ago I shared my desire to read "The Classics" to the boys. We are still pursing this desire and we just started "Wizard of Oz" tonight. So far we have read "Black Beauty" and "the Call of the Wild".

The boys and I are so amazed at how different the books are verses the movies we watch. The kids are picking up on lots of the differences, especially in "OZ".

The boys are taking turns picking the next book to read and they each have their next 2 picked out all ready.

I Will Never...

After washing my bed sheets this week I realized that they were just way to wrinkled to put back on my bed. There are some permanent wrinkles that get worse with every wash. So, I pulled out my iron and ironing board and decided to tackle the wrinkles immediately.

As I was ironing my sheets my thoughts went back to years ago. When my 3 kids were all under the age of 4, a friend told me that she washes her bed sheets weekly AND irons them with Lavender Water! I was floored. I said I would NEVER iron my sheets. At that time I couldn't even wash my sheets regularly, let alone find time to iron them. Shoot I was lucky to get a shower every other day. Ironing sheets was just not even on the "To Do List".

But yet here I was ironing my sheets. I was giggling at myself and thinking about all the other things that I swore I would never do. I wonder if God just chuckles at me when I say that! As with almost everything I say I will never do, I usually end up doing it and completely enjoying it. I swore I would never breastfeed my babies and God softened my heart and it was such an amazing experience! I swore I would never homeschool my children and yet I find my self teaching them daily. It is truly the most precious time I have with my boys.

I am sure the "I Will Never" list could go on and on but the beauty is that God is so good and so patient with me when I am so stubborned.

As for my sheets, it was dreamy to climb into them that night! And what I wouldn't give for some Vanilla Water to put in my iron!
