Every night at dinner our conversation leads to the daily "Highs and Lows". Everyone takes turns telling what their High of the day was and if they have any Lows. This has been a great time of connection for our family. It has afforded us the opportunity to stay involved in each others lives.
For the month of November we changed it to "What are you thankful for today?" We are challenging the kids and ourselves to go deeper then just being thankful for the food! We want our children to know what Thanksgiving represented in years past not just the commercialization of today's holidays!
God truly has blessed us with so much, much more then we even realize! I hope that we can have a heart of thankfulness all year long, not just in November!

We usually try to have those, "how was your day" questions and the kids tell about their day at school and Daddy tells about his day at work, etc. But our conversations usually lead to farts and burps, drive me mad!!! I can't seem to go through a meal without it. It is not quite so bad with Michael deployed, (which is really sad if you think he is the ring leader!!) but it still happens!!! Silly I know but I am sure you know with 3 boys of your own!
I am thankful for my life!!! I am thankful for what GOD has provided us with, a house, my health, my family, means to nurish ourselves... the list could go on forever I am sure, but I will stop there. God is so good and will always provide!!!

I think I will have to put this in my blog!! I agree that people should be thankful or at least consider what they have to be thankful for all through the year! Not just Thanksgiving!! Have a great one and enjoy the sunshine!
