Great Classics for Children...

Several months ago I shared my desire to read "The Classics" to the boys. We are still pursing this desire and we just started "Wizard of Oz" tonight. So far we have read "Black Beauty" and "the Call of the Wild".

The boys and I are so amazed at how different the books are verses the movies we watch. The kids are picking up on lots of the differences, especially in "OZ".

The boys are taking turns picking the next book to read and they each have their next 2 picked out all ready.

I can not recommend more highly "Roll of Thunder Hear My Cry". I read it as a 4th grader and it absolutely changed my life and introduced me to compassion. And I read a whole slew of girly books like "Summer of my German Soldier"... I never took my nose out of a book actually. The boys might really, really like "The Boy Who Could Turn Himself Inside-Out". Gosh, I should probably look into becoming a librarian!!!
