As our sons are become preteens and teens, Brian and I have been very active in training and preparing our boys for manhood. The Bible directs parents to "train up a child in the way he should go" and we take this seriously! It is a parents job to train the children! Not the schools, not the churches, not the friends, not television... it is the parents job!!
The last several months I have been working really hard to teach my boys to have integrity in ALL they do! With preteen and teen boys, this can be a very frustrating task. I want to teach the boys to have integrity now in hopes that doing the right thing will come naturally to them as adults.
Today I was reminded again about the importance of teaching integrity.
I made an appointment with a leather repair man. He was supposed to be at the house at 9 this morning. It is almost 10 and I have not even heard from him!
I realize that things come up and maybe there was an emergency... BUT this is the third company who has stood me up recently! THIRD!!! One of the guys we made several appointments with and each one he was a no show.
SO, I am frustrated but even more determined to teach my boys to be men of thier words!!
Welcome, Minnie!!

I am trying to remember this lesson and teach Caroline that, even at her young age! We had a moment at the table tonight about it!
You are inspiring...and such a great mom! Your boys are blessed to have a great mom!
